After a successful self-employed career in the building/plumbing trade for over 10 years, I decided to start an internet based business. Sure, I wanted to make money from the Internet, but I didn't have a clue how to do it back then.

I no longer wanted to be a wage slave tied into long, unsocial hours, as I was on 24 hour emergency plumbing call alot of the time. I wanted to spend more quality time with my family and friends. So after about a year of part time learning & research I came to the decision that I would become an Internet Marketer or what I do now better known as 'Niche Marketing'.

I started learning back in 2003, and I had owned my first computer for just a couple of years and all I really used it for was to play games and send emails. Back then I did not have a clue what an ftp program was or anything about Internet marketing whatsoever. As I discovered more and more about internet marketing, information products and ebooks, I soon realized that I really should have a website. So I started to learn how to build one.

I sold my first non internet marketing related product online from my own website on 5th April 2004, while still working as a Plumber. I will always remember that day and will never forget it because that was they day when I realized it is possible to earn money online and I had the proof I wanted.

Fast forward to today, after a lot of hard work, I now have a growing network of websites offering a wide range of products to non internet marketing related niches. There is so much information around these days on how to make a living online the most used phrase I hear at seminars and conferences is "Information Overload".

We are bombarded everywhere we look whether it be in our emails or from the stage at seminars with the next 'hottest product' offer, one minute it's adsense, affiliate marketing, then blogging, ebay, joint ventures, and making money with membership sites, not to mention CPA marketing.

All this talk of so many ways to make money on the Internet confuses new internet entrepreneurs (newbies) in which direction they should take, and frankly I am not surprised, I say this from experience having gone through the same thing. But it doesn't have to be this way, all that is needed really is a proven system to follow to earn a living online, once you have that it can be repeated in any niche.

Concentrating on a 'hot market' first not on a 'hot product' is very powerful if you want success and for me this is a must.

Isn't it time to clear the fog?
